I would not recommend using this device in your car. The device is a table-top appliance. It does not have any shock or vibration absorbing materials to protect the drive while you're driving. It is a delicate device. If you have a USB in your car, you should use a flash drive. Suggest you use this device to rip the music off your CD and place it onto a flash drive. Use the flash drive in the car. That's what I do.
