• I have not had any issues with this as of yet. I have has CDs from 20 year's agi and they actually worked

• I have not had any problem as of yet with oldwe C.D s. I have home CD's thats are over 20 years old and it worked

• This external drive could play with the USB cable shipped with it, provided the system compatible USB port. Yes, it could read the old CDs with compatible file formats.
