• That is probably the only drawback with the drive if there is one. The cable appears to be about a foot long though.

• It does have a shorter cable but it is possible to purchase a longer cable

• The drive did not include a longer cable. You would have to ask a Best Buy employee in the computer department if they sell a longer cable.

• I believe you can add a USB extension made to hold the device you use, just as you would adding a USB extension for a printer
