“I would like to use a docking station so that I can connect to 2 - 21" monitors. I'm not interested in powering/charging the laptop from the docking station, just use the Display Ports and the USB ports. I will power/charge the laptop using its own sply.”

Thanks for sharing. Yes, you can do this,. You don't really need a docking station to do it, but if you want to spend the money, neither BB nor Dell will stop you.
