As noted in the other answer(s), it comes with Defender, MS's own protection, which has improved since its first release, and would be considered good enough for most people. If you even occasionally go to websites that have been flagged, you should consider upgrading to another, paid program. Many ISPs and cable TV providers will also provide better antivirus programs, for free, as long as you subscribe to their service.
