As far as the gpu goes you can upgrade to the 1050ti or the 1060. Any bigger than that and you could run in to issues with power consumption.

I can’t speak for the battery life on the go because is my sons computer. But I haven’t heard any complaints from him or my husband who share the computer. They do use it for gaming/ like borderlands and gta etc.
