Yes. By weight it is not as heavy to carry as some other laptops. By size, it is small enough to easily fit into a school backpack, and easy to carry. The screen is large enough for college work. Even split screen is large enough to see and work on. My only concern is battery life for six hours of classes. Our student will carry the cord for the first few days just in case it needs charged. At home, it seems to last about five hours. The 2 in 1 screen will be great to work on group projects, to stand up the screen for group viewing.

They start in price at about $75 and are available almost anywhere that computers are sold. It would add about another pound to the total weight carried, but these are invaluable. I myself have two: I carry one and have another charging at home to be ready for the next day. Once I had a power outage in my area during the summer and I used them to power my laptop, modem, and even a fan for an entire day.
