Yes, you can hook a gaming laptop to it. You would have to go into settings and set it up to display on monitor. Response time is in the monitors spec sheets. Frames per second is whatever you have it set up to in game. All you need is an hdmi cord but hdmi cords never give you the full ability of the monitor.

Skyrim, tomb raider 2013, return of the tomb raider and the newest one play ok, with some noise. dragon origins is totally unplayable because of the screeching coming from the monitor. i have used it on two computers and tried all the same games with the same results. for every day computer it does fine. graphics are clear, the screen size is great. it works well for that purpose. gaming is hit or miss depending on what game your running. i havent tried it with my laptop. i have purchased premium hdmi cable and tried the display adapter output on my desktop. if have the msi 6gig video card.
