QuestionIf I am hooking up to a surface, do I need to have cables connecting both monitors to the surface or do I just connect one cable to one monitor for both monitors to display? Using for work and want to be able to use both monitors at same time.

- Answer This question is missing some information. Are you wanting to use the built-in monitor on the Microsoft Surface and the external monitor? Or are you wanting to use two external monitors? If your question is the former, you should just be able to plug the monitor into the HDMI port on the Surface and it will detect the monitor as a second display, allowing you to use both simultaneously. If it is the latter, unless your Surface has two display ports, you can only connect one external display to it at any one time.

- Answer The model I purchased is a Dell SE2717HR. My monitor is set up at 18.25" overall height, including the stand, to the top of the monitor. I also like the stand because it gives me a special place to put my glasses. It is also easy to adjust for glare on screen.

- Answer I purchased something on amazon for my last dell monitor that was also without the VESA mounting. It just slides into the back where the stand would normally go. It was this one here https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01DAYR3ZM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I bought this for my 24" dell monitor in 2017 but it worked fine for this one as I just switched the plate. I forgot to check for the VESA mounting when I ordered it, so I was lucky it worked.
