“I have a 25 year old Denon AVR-95 Receiver. Problem: Surround Sound stoped working.. Replaced. Surround sound cable from receiver to Denon DVD Player. No luck, can this problem be repaired. Thought about buying Denon AVR 2800 H receiver.”

Maybe your sound mode was accidentally changed. On our Pioneer elite the different source settings were all on the left knob i.e. bluray, CD, DVD etc. But on the new Denon 2800 some of the settings are on the remote. We did not realize it and could not get the Surround sound to work on this new unit. We asked several people at Bestbuy including Magnolia dept and no-one could give us a correct solution. After searching forums online I realized the setting is on the REMOTE and the correct sound mode is "MOVIE" on the remote. Hope this helps. So far we like the Denon 2800
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Sorry to learn of your receiver. Twenty-five years is a good run. At this juncture, it is recommended to upgrade to the new AVR-X2800H. I can't imagine you will be disappointed with all the new features added over the years.
