• Don't know if you're a bad typist, or just misinformed, but for clarification purpose, it's called a SIM card, not slim or even SLIM. The letters are an acronym for Subscriber Identity Module, and it allows a person to connect directly to a cellular service as a paid Subscriber to that service (from companies like AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, etc.), by creating an online Identity using the Module. Connectivity can be used for data or voice, depending on the device's configuration. Some tablets, like the iPad mini or iPad Pro, have this feature, but most others, including this one, can only connect via WiFi. This generally means using only data-oriented apps, or the few that allow for voice transmission as well.
