• Yes. I have used my iPhone 12 PRO Max vertically for the same reason (IG) using this setup. It does require slight balancing of it on top of the tripod legs so that the weight falls on the tripod leg directly and not in between 2 of them which will cause it to tip over. In a couple of tries, you should be able to get the sweet spot.
