“Is it able to stand up on it's own or does it need some sort of stand? I'd like to be able to stand it up if I need to while taking video.”

By itself it can be stood upright. But it will fall over with the lightest touch. You can use an adapter to put a small tripod which is what I use. If you're sure nothing will knock it over, than you can just stand it up by itself.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The base of the Osmo Pocket can stand on its own as long as it sits on a flat level surface. DJI also sells tripods and accessories for the unit if you are looking for something more stable.
