• Nope, this is Display port to HDMI... check if ur laptop has VGA/HDMI/Display port and buy right cable!

• No, this item has a Video Display port connection which is different than a usb 2.0 port. In addition, this is a very short cable. I wouldn't recommend using this to hook to a tv at all. I use this to connect to an HDMI cable to my monitor which has a hdmi port and my docking station which as display port connection or you could connect directly to laptop with a display port connection.
