I have tried the same thing with both my laptops and desktop, and it works with one laptop only. What you need is an ACTIVE adapter, not a passive one, which this is. Then you should be OK.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.This is exactly what I'm trying to do. My computer won't recognize that there is a monitor connected though. Terribly frustrating to tell if the problem lies with this connector or with the old (8yrs, but still very capable 1920 x 1200) monitor. I've tried several hdmi cable. The monitor recognizes when the adapter is plugged into it.
