Hi Liz, this is Krystal with Dyson. Thank you for your interest in the Dyson Airwrap. The Dyson Airwrap sold in Japan is the same as the one sold in the US. However, the voltage is different as the voltage for each country is not the same. A machine purchased in the US will operate on 110-120 voltage and should not be used with a converter.
