No, and that is something I really don't like about this model over the previous couple of Dysons I have owned. You just have to push down hard on the upright handle assembly, while rotating it rearward slightly, until it finally releases the lock: no pedal, no switch. It can be tricky sometimes, and it often feels unnatural, like I may break it.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I don't think there is a traditional foot switch to release it from upright position - at least not one that I have seen on this model. You have to apply some pressure to the vacuum to make it tilt. It does lock in place easily,
