QuestionThis vacuum is good for dogs hair?

- Answer We have 4 Siberian huskies and 2 cats - constant shedding. Hair is a daily battle. This vacuum keeps up even better than the Dyson ball we've used for 8 years prior. We broke 3 other big brand vacuums in short order due to the amount of hair and use. The older Dyson kept up like no other (and still works, we just wanted to upgrade) - and this new Cinetic vacuum works even better!

QuestionUpright vacuum stability, when using accessoriesI'm currently debating in purchasing this Dyson - Cinetic Big Ball Animal + Allergy Bagless Upright Vacuum. Is there a deficiency in the vacuum stability, when having unit in upright position, then while using the extension hosing, the vacuum falling over?

- Answer The hose is so tightly fitted that you barely get any reach. So you constantly fighting the vacuum against the hose. The suction on the hose is nonexistent. Plan vacuuming it's great.

- Answer The big difference between the two is that the allergy one comes with a million different tools and attachments for cleaning vents, fans, furniture, under furniture, blinds, you name it. The regular animal comes with only 3 attachments. And i believe the filter on the allergy one is different but im not 100% sure on that. I opted for the allergy one for all of the extra tools.

- Answer It can clean anything in your home. Comes with a mattress cleaning tool amongst other tools and there is no filter to clean like the lower end Dysons. Worth it's weight in gold!

QuestionIs there a switch to release from upright position?

- Answer No, and that is something I really don't like about this model over the previous couple of Dysons I have owned. You just have to push down hard on the upright handle assembly, while rotating it rearward slightly, until it finally releases the lock: no pedal, no switch. It can be tricky sometimes, and it often feels unnatural, like I may break it.

- Answer I don't have a meter to give you a decibel level, but this vacuum is so much quieter than the hoover I was using before. I used to have to wear ear protectors and my dog ran away. Now, she mostly hangs out while I vacuum, and I don't feel compelled to wear ear plugs. So, it's pretty good!

- Answer It will at a minimum disturb their environment drastically. No exaggeration! We didn't know how dirty our carpets were until using this Dyson. It disturbed me how much stuff was left behind after a professional steam cleaning and a Kirby demo. It pulled dust out of everything we thought was immaculately cleaned aready. In short, I believe it does.

- Answer 2 cats here - one long hair. This thing picks it all up: litter, hair embedded in the carpet, kibble fragments around the eating area. Works great for us for all things cat!

QuestionI purchased this vacuum and while I absolutely love it... it seems to “hold” the pet odor so when used again, I get the nice fresh smell that no one wants. HOW does one clean it so the odor comes out of it?

- Answer Take the screws off of the ball to reveal the filter. Each side has one. I just poured baking soda and blew it out with a compressor.

- Answer Mary, this vacuum is heavy. I have 6 little dogs and when the bagless feature is full (there is actually a line so you don't fill it too full), I still need to get my hand/fingers in there and pull the gunk out. The hose suction is strong so when you reach up with it you are fighting the vacuum. It does come with some nice tools. I'm still looking for that perfect vacuum and this one is not it.

- Answer Yes all the attachments you list are included but no information is provided by Dyson in the box on how to use them. The only information on the attachments is contained on the outside of the shipping box.

QuestionHow does the pet hair collect on the roller? My old Dyson, I constantly have to sit on the floor with a pair of scissors after I vacuum to cut the hair out. I currently have a Bissel which does not collect hair around the roller , but it is too light.

- Answer Hello Phyl, this is Kelly with Dyson. The Dyson Cinetic Big Ball Animal + Allergy does feature a spinning brush bar. If you are vacuuming up a lot of hair, it can get wrapped around the bristles on the brush bar, if it's not regularly maintained. This model will also come with our tangle-free turbine tool.
