• Hi Bob, this is Kelly with Dyson. The Dyson Cyclone V10 Animal has a battery that is held in place with small screws. While the battery can be removed and replaced if necessary, this model was not designed to have the battery swapped out on a regular basis. Best wishes, Kelly Dyson Customer Support

• The batteries is built into the unit. It is not easily changeable.
