From what I have read when trying to decide what vacuum to purchase, the new technology out there allows you to keep the battery connected to the charger (seeing how the vacuum's holder has the adapter permanently attached to it). Granted I have had my Dyson V10 animal vacuum for only a week, but if they could create a such a fantastic device, they probably have created a better battery.

This is completely normal and occurs with any device that uses this type of battery. Unfortunately, we are unable to advise how long each component will last in each individual's home. That being said, allowing the machine to cool down before placing it back on to charge, and ensuring that your machine is kept indoors, at room temperature, can help to prolong battery life. You can keep the machine docked at all times; once the battery has completed the charging cycle, it will stop charging. Best wishes, Kelly Dyson Customer Support
