“I tried vacuuming my living room Rut with this one and it is a bit heavy. Is this model not recommended for carpet? My whole house is tile but we have a 8x10 rug that needs to be vacuumed daily. We also don’t have any animals”

This vac is made for a multitude of surfaces including carpet. Check the power setting, in my experience most surfaces only need the lowest power setting and works best on the lowest setting.

Your cleaner head does have a suction control slider, which you can move to the left, right or center, to adjust suction for higher pile or thicker carpeting.
