“Do you need to manually hold down the on button like the V8 or does the Animal have a switch to keep the vacuum on? I heard in reviews the on switch is uncomfortable/painful to your hand especially if you have arthritis or carpal tunnel issues.”

• Unfortunately you do have to hold down the button while using the vacuum it can definitely get a bit uncomfortable if your vacuuming a large space/whole house.

• Hello Ali, This is Miella from Dyson. While the Dyson V11 does have the trigger mechanism, so it required being pressed to engage the machine, it is a runtime enhancing light touch trigger, which requires little pressure to run the unit as well. Hope this helps! Miella Dyson Customer Support
