“I want to keep it hung up in my closet. Is that possible since there isn't an outlet in there? Is the charger detachable to plug in elsewhere? I'm a little confused how this works. It says it has to be charged when not being used.”

The charger is detachable and you can charge it elsewhere and store in your closet!

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.It charges while cradled in the wall hanger. I added ours to the wall in our laundry room, I did have to run an extension cord to it. There may be other options but I'd look for a place near a utility room or such to hang this up.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.An outlet must be near the vacuum. It is not detachable, the charger plugs into the top of the main body of the vacuum. So it’s not possible to hang without an outlet near. Still a great vacuum.
