• Yes the charger needs to be plugged in when not using.

• If you have charged your vacuum then no it should NOT loose power when not in use during normal use...... but if left for 6 months ect then you may loose some power.

• Hi there, this is Krystal with Dyson. I am sorry to hear your Dyson V6 is not keeping a charge. The only time the machine's battery is used is when the trigger is held when in use. You should be getting 20 minutes of constant suction in standard mode and 6 minutes on MAX power for tougher jobs.
