• It becomes hand held once you remove the long wand tube on it, which just clicks off. After reading what you said I just looked at mine and attached the crevice tool to it .It does become hand held

• Hello there, This is Dan with Dyson. The V6 cordless models can be used as an upright or a handheld thanks to the removable wand. Attachments can either be connected to the end of the wand or directly to the clear bin. Best wishes, Dan
