Hello there, this is Kelly with Dyson. All of our Dyson cordless models, including the V8 Animal do have a battery which can be replaced if needed. The battery itself is held in to place with 2 small screws and can be recharged either on the mountable wall dock or just by simply plugging the charger in to the machine.
