When using our cordless Dyson V8 Animal, we have to maintain a finger on the trigger for it to stay on. I'm guessing that having some type of "auto hold" option may affect the process of emptying the canister.

Battery power is only on when the trigger is pushed – this means that the battery is only used for cleaning, and is not wasted when moving from room to room, or moving around obstacles.
