“Will this vacuum work to clean a thick dense pile area rug? I am having trouble deciding on a vacuum that will vacuum my carpet(area rug) instead of stalling (the brush won't turn). Thanks”

I don’t think this will work on a deep pile.

Hello MK, this is Kelly with Dyson. The V8 Animal does feature two suction modes, regular and MAX. In MAX power, you'd have more suction, and may find the machine harder to push on thicker carpeting. Regular power would provide sufficient suction, but also give you longer run time as well. Our V11 models that have a torque drive cleaner head also feature a suction control slider right at the head, making them also ideal for thicker carpets. Best wishes, Kelly Dyson Customer Support
