Hi Sherry, the eero Outdoor 7 is designed to integrate seamlessly with existing eero mesh networks, including older models. However, it does not function as a standalone router and requires a connection to an eero gateway (router) to operate effectively. If you're considering using it with a non-eero router, such as one provided by your ISP, the Outdoor 7 won't mesh with that network. Instead, it can serve as an access point, extending Wi-Fi coverage outdoors, but without the benefits of eero's TrueMesh technology. Hope this helps!
