This depends on a ton of factors, including what's in your walls, when your house was built and if there is any other interference. I would generally say it SHOULD work, because we got almost whole home coverage (1900sqft) with one node, and the second one just made it that much better. Again, no one could answer this, but if you only want one node, you can get a much less expensive WiFi router that isn't "mesh" because you only need one node. Just food for thought.
