“I currently have a Dual-Band 550mbps EERO mesh (4 units). If I replaced just the hub unit with 1 Tri-Band would it ramp up the speed of the remaining 3 dual-band units? With better range at the hub maybe I won't even need as many units overall?”

Given Eero support’s input to me, I believe that any unit will only perform at its own particular ability, despite whatever ability other units in the system can do. So, we have the Eero pro 6, 3 pack as our main system, and our previous Eero pro units are attached to it. But while the Eero pro 6 units can achieve very high speeds on our 1GB service the Eero pro units do not achieve the same speeds. So we only use the Eero pro units where that speed won’t matter so much.
