“When recording on my PS4/Xbox/Switch, would I need to play them using my laptop as a screen or can it still be connected to my tv to play the games”

• The elgato capture card would need to be hooked up via USB to your laptop and you can control streaming options from your laptop screen . Then you plug in the hdmi into your tv that you want to play your games on .

• You should be able to use your TV. The HDMI out goes to whatever display that you want to play on and the USB goes to the computer.
