Yes. This can capture any hdmi UP TO 1080p. If you try 1440 or 4K the cap card will not recognize the Xbox

Yes, it will split the video signal put out by your XBOX and allow your PC to get the gameplay. It also does not interrupt the signal from your XBOX to your TV. It only connects them together with video/audio, does not have a communication connection for things like sending files.
