This does not sound typical. I wonder if you somehow have the microphone set to also play through the speakers? Reach out to the HP support team or Best Buy Geek Squad for a resolution.

It’s possible that your microphone is turned on and is being fed to the speakers, causing feedback. Try going into your sound settings, then find the internal microphone. There should be an option in the microphone level settings to listen to the microphone through your speakers. Make sure the box for this option is not checked.
