QuestionI absolutely cannot figure out how to find, let alone USE the fingerprint scanner on this laptop (HP Eny x360 - 15m - cn0011dx). I know it is equipped with one because the box in came in says it is included. There is NOTHING in the help section.

- Answer Fingerprint scanner on right side of computer toward back. When I originally opened my computer I was prompted to set up fingerprint scan. It did not take so I have yet to return to do. If u are left handed this is not ideal set up. Doable but not ideal.hope that helps.

QuestionRegarding upgrading the ram to 16GB I have question - Is the 8GB removed and 16GB installed or do you just add another 8GB to make a total of 16GB? The question was specifically asked earlier but the answer was vague. Thanks.

- Answer This model has two ram slots. One slot is empty while the other has a single 8GB card. You would want to simply add an additional 8GB stick of ram to make the machine total 16GB.

QuestionThis has a 256GB SSD, according to the description. Is their a 2nd bay to add another, larger drive? I cannot seem to find this exact model on the HP website, and Crucial is no help. Thank you for your assistance. I greatly appreciate it.

- Answer According to the service manual here: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c06001789 this model would support a second larger drive, however you would need the ribbon cable to connect the sata drive, which is not included.

QuestionI want to know what I can really expect from this battery. I know the description says 12 hours, but I doubt that is realistic. I want to hear from people who are actually actively using the device as to how long I can expect the battery to last.

- Answer Thank you for reaching out. The 12 hour battery life is a standardized test that results from mixed usage. Things like playing games or watching videos use a lot more battery life than typing a Word document. I would expect closer to 7 hours of average mixed use.

QuestionIs it two 4GB modules or one 8GB module with an empty bay? One 8GB module is preferable because if you want to update to 16 (for example) you just buy another 8GB and insert it. But if you have two 4GB sticks, then buying 8GB will only get you twelve.

QuestionDoes this PC have a USB type C thunderbolt 3 port?

- Answer No. Thunderbolt 3 is a standard that utilizes the USB-C port and offers data transfer rates up to 40GBps — four times that of USB 3.1 C, which this laptop has, and even two times that of USB 3.2. Although it can sometimes be cross-compatible with USB 3.1 cables, that's not always the case and is not garunteed to work. Thunderbolt 3 devices are not recomended by HP unless they are backword compatible to 3.1 C spec.

QuestionWhen I close the lid on this laptop, I assume it automatically 'sleeps', but does it continue to use the battery? I have used several laptops that drains the battery whilst sleeping and ultimately crashes when the battery drains.

- Answer I find little to no drain when left on and the lid closed. I charged it to 100% last night, then closed the lid. I opened it this afternoon and it is still at 100%.

QuestionI purchased the HP Envy x360 about a month ago. The only 2 issues I have is the touch ID to unlock the computer does not always work and it gets VERY hot. Sometimes I cant keep it on my lap. Is this normal for this computer?

- Answer I couldn't get the fingerprint reader to work at first, then I realized that I was touching the volume control, not the reader next to it. It works fine for me now. As far as heat, I have noticed that it puts off a fair amount of heat when the backlight for the keyboard is on. If I'm in a well-lighted area, I turn it off, which saves battery, as well.
