“You say it is expandable up to 16gb and can take two 8gb. But you don't say it has expansion slots. Does that mean in order to expand you have to trash the two 6gb that are shipped and can replace them with two 8gb?”

• Yes, that's correct. It only has two slots for the RAM. If 12GB is not adequate for your needs, you will have to remove the installed RAM and replace it with alternate sticks.
