“my Epson xp 1600 has 302-I cartridges. When I tried to replace the black with a 302 xl the printer will not recognize it”

• THERE ARE 2 BLACK INK CARTRIDGES . MAKE SURE YOU ARE REPLACING BOTH CARTRIDGES.. THE PHOTO BLACK AND THE REGULAR BLACK WHICH IS A BIGGER CARTRIDGE..

• Hello Patty. We would like to confirm that the printer referenced is an XP-6100. If so, the machine was designed to use 302 and 302XL genuine Epson Ink Cartridges. You can try removing the ink cartridge and making sure there is nothing on the ink chip causing an issue with contact.
