Yes, you can use this for sublimation. This printer was not originally designed for sublimation. However, when you purchase the 2800, like I did, do NOT use the ink that it comes with. Buy separate sublimation ink and install it on the initial set up. Do not mix sublimation ink with the regular ink. Hope this helps.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.It's not supported by Epson and many doing sublimation printing have found the printheads don't stay clean or work as long using sublimation ink. Never mix the regular ink and sublimation ink. Whatever you install in the printer wells with initially will be what you must then continue use for the printer's lifetime. If you choose to use sublimation ink, then the printer can only be used as a sublimation printer from then on. Also if the unit dies during the warranty period, and found to have sublimation ink, you'll find you have violated the terms of use of Epson and won't get a replacement or refund. Epson has said in numerous ways and various places that they do not warrant or support sublimation ink or any ink other than the type ink they provide. Anything else voids their warranty. Now that being said, many people have used both these printers as sublimation printers successfully provided they never use the printers for anything other than sublimation printing. If you want both a sublimation and an ink printing printer you will need to get two printers. So if you want to take a chance on using sublimation inks and go without a warranty from Epson....
