Hello Sandy. The ET-5170 is designed only to use Epson T542 Ink Bottles available in one size. The printer uses a combination of pigment and dye-based inks. Unfortunately, since the ink set uses a mixture of both, it will not improve water resistance. Regards, Kevin - The Epson Team.
