“Does the printer stop working if one ink is lower than the other? Say the colored ink is low, but the black is not, will it stop printing? I've had issues with printers that stop printing if even one ink was low.”

Yes, you can continue to print until completely empty. I’ve even had a situation where my black was gone and it gave me the option to use the color cartridges to create black ink for my paper. Plus the cartridges are all separate so you just buy black when you need it or just buy color. I still haven’t purchased a color replacement yet, I mostly print in Black and white.
