Here are the file types from the user manual. By default it scans to JPEG, but if you use the scanning software provided by Epson, you can change what it gets saved as. Bitmap (*.bmp) A standard image file format for most Windows programs. JPEG (*.jpg) An image format that lets you highly compress image data. However, the higher the compression, the lower the image quality. (The TIFF format is recommended when you need to modify or retouch your scanned image.) Multi-TIFF (*.tif) A TIFF file format when multiple pages are saved to the same file, allowing you to edit the images using a compatible program. PDF (*.pdf) A document format that is readable by Windows and OS X systems using Adobe Reader, Acrobat, or other programs. You can save multi-page documents in one PDF file. PICT (*.pct) A standard image file format for most OS X programs. PRINT Image Matching II (*.jpg or *.tif) File formats that include Epson PRINT Image Matching II data for enhanced quality and a wider color range (does not affect the way the image displays on the screen). TIFF (*.tif) A file format created for exchanging data between many programs, such as graphic and DTP software.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes you can save as different files types including JPEG, PDF, etc. Just go into the Epson Scan program and during your scan it'll ask where you want to be saved and all of that, there's a section that you can select the file type, it's a drop down box and it includes a variety of file formats to choose from.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You have the option to scan it as a pdf or a pic when you go to the scan options.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, this printer will save as PDF. Unfortunately, I can't figure out how to scan more than one page and then save, the printer seems to automatically save each scanned page separately.
