“Need a printer that does not require internet connection to print photos I am looking for a printer that does not require an internet connection to operate other than the initial set up. We have access to one to do the set up but not for daily use. I am looking at the Epson XP-830 for printing photos.”

Prints right off memory sticks, memory cards, or from a connected computer. Internet not used for that.

I am not using a usb cable to connect to the printer, I have it connected to my home network via a network cable, but you have the option to connect directly to it using a usb. You can add the printer to most computers without using the provided/downloaded software but I don't know if all functions will be available. The software doesn't require internet access but you won't get notice of updates and mine needed updating immediately after install (this is not a bad thing, just to be expected). BTW the software works well.. I had HPs for years and there software can be troublesome, at least for older models.
