Hi Wondering, The Perfection V600 is compatible with Cataline OS X 10.15.7. When you scan a 4" x 6" picture you can set the scanner software to scan just the picture or the entire scan bed. Your choice. Regards, Mark - The Epson Team.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This is a scanner ONLY -if you want to print or enlarge the viewed and scanned image you must print it through your computer and printer. It is excellent for photos, negatives, (color and, black and white) and slides, as well as documents -letter size, and it comes with a nice image editor (PhotoStudio ). IF you have an upscale multipurpose printer with provisions for negatives and slides, you may not need this. It does a high-resolution digitization of old pics , negs and positives, and I have made great -very nice- enlargements up to 8 x 10 from 35mm negs and slides, and super-enlarged sections of the same. When copying prints, it in itself does not "enlarge", but you can crop and enlarge portions of any image, whether prints, negatives, slides, etc. Blown up on 50" UHD TV the quality is stunning!! Basically it works -with photo quality- like the surface of a printer with a flat bed for scanning., but provides the tools for slides and negatives as well- something my Epson Work Force WF-2540 did not have (also a good printer). It creates an excellent digitized image of your source (in a number of available types -jpg, tiff, etc.), and saves it in whatever device you are running it through. Whether it will work well with a specific device (MAC Catalina, etc.) should be confirmed at the Epson "Help" site. It is a good scanner, I just wish it had been on sale like it is NOW(!!), when I purchased it a few weeks ago...
