Sometime it does sometimes it doesn’t. It does display a lot more speed limits when connected to a phone via bluetooth. Bluetooth is the way it connects. You can also download a really awesome app ESCORT LIVE!

It will show a default speed of what you set in your settings unless you have the escort app. Once you get the app you can go into the settings on your phone and adjust what you need to adjust or just use the app while driving. When you are driving, it will show the actual speed limits and for the most part, bit is pretty close to the same as where the signs change the speed. The app is also great as it shows what others have put in if they also have the app. If there is a cop that they passed, and they put in the location, you will see it on your phone too. And the other way around, when you put in a location, everyone else will see it also. As for the gps and other features, it will ask you if it can turn on what the app needs to be able to work correctly. The app uses blue tooth and not wifi as that is what is broadcasted from the plug for the dedector. Hope this answers all your questions.

Connection to the phone through a simple setup through the APP is easily accomplished through Bluetooth. Once connected it will show established speed traps and red light cameras along with fellow drivers along your route where radar was detected
