FIFA 23 has gameplay that can be played offline, for example the Career mode. Other modes like Ulitmate Team are online only and require a PS Plus subscription.

It has fun offline game modes, and you can even play Ultimate Team but not against other players online; thats where ps plus comes in. To play certain game modes like pro clubs and online seasons/coop seasons, we do need our membership.

It completely depends on the mode you are playing. If you are playing online against other people then you need PS plus but if you are playing the A.I. then all you need is the game and a console
