I had this same experience! I was told in store to call the number to get my steel case and support told me they wouldn’t do anything. I asked to be escalated to a supervisor and they said they wouldn’t do that because there’s nothing they can do. I’m so disappointed. The steel case was the only reason I preordered through Best Buy.
