FF7 Rebirth
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The parts of the story that remained the same were incredible and it was very fun to see certain cutscenes in ps5 graphics, the music was fantastic, and the new story and ending left me wanting more. The voice acting was also phenomenal. There’s also plenty of side content right from the start of the game, and the combat is very fun and fluid. The only downsides were how much the game has crashed on me during battle intel fights, and how short the main game was. Other than that, a pretty solid game!

(no spoilers) Detailed review and explanation
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I played the Final Fantasy 7 Remake, which can be experienced before diving into Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. However, you can skip the Remake and simply watch a recap for Rebirth, though this would save you some money, you'd miss out on the experience. From my perspective, the game evokes nostalgia from the original Final Fantasy 7 released on the first PlayStation console. I appreciate the character models and the voice acting in both English and Japanese. The Japanese voices sound quite dramatic, but Cloud's voice seems a bit too child-like. The gameplay is enjoyable, offering two distinct styles to switch between, giving a sense of the classic feel while remaining in real-time combat. I appreciate the flexibility this provides. (Minor spoiler): One downside is that two characters from the original game are only briefly featured in the Remake, which feels like a tease. I believe they'll be more prominent in future installments. My opinion on the matter is that I'm not a fan of the game being split into multiple titles for marketing and monetization purposes, but at least there are no microtransactions. The storyline is well-developed, with greater depth than the original. Exploring the open world for the first time in this game is exhilarating, but the game can still feel linear during cave battles. Combat is fast-paced, and the classic mode allows for strategic thinking. A mental note: Final Fantasy 7: Rebirth differs significantly from the Remake in terms of weapon leveling. If you plan on playing the Remake before Rebirth, keep in mind that the leveling mechanics are quite different.

GOTY HEAVYWEIGHT
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Just got to chapter 6 and so far it’s been INCREDIBLE and definitely a heavyweight GOTY contender…the music, combat, story, etc 10/10 easily…the only thing that disappoints me is the performance mode…definitely can be touched up visually (glad they are working on a patch to fix it though)

Enjoying it so far
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.TLDR: @around 35 hours playtime: Enjoyable experience and worth the $$ for Final Fantasy Fan that played original FF7 and played FF7 Remake Part 1 More details/long version: Reviewer's background/perspective Lifelong Final Fantasy fan. Played original FF7 when it came out. Never played Crisis Core or any of the other FF7-universe games. Played FF7:Remake + Intergrade. I did not replay the original or the FF7:Remake prior to playing. So this review probably has some bias. I also stayed away from most trailers/news about the game to avoid getting too hyped up. I did play the demo (first part) and it didn't impress/hook me at that time. I just finished Chapter 9, at around 35hours of game-time thus far. Story I feel like the game does a good job of fleshing out the characters and their relationships more. The added depth doesn't feel like pointless filler. I also like the variety of serious, funny, cringe, and weird moments. Gameplay > Combat: The combat is enjoyable. I find it just challenging enough that I can't just button mash. Sometimes it's too hectic for me but maybe that's just a skill issue on my part. > Exploration: I'm not that into open-world games in general. This is about the limit of what I could tolerate. I'm also not a completionist so I feel just fine not going to every landmark and focusing on parts of the game I enjoy. Otherwise probably not the most groundbreaking or robust open-world game > Minigames: Most of minigames are great! The other ones are good enough/tolerable enough. Graphics/performance Playing in Graphics Optimization mode. Good graphics overall. None of the following are deal-breakers for me, but worth mentioning. Some pop-in or delayed texture loading. Some lighting makes the character faces look creepy. I'm sure there's some frame drops but I haven't really noticed it. Other I think I'm enjoying the game because I've tried to avoid the hype around it. I'm a fan of the series and original FF7, but I had to watch my expectations with all the hype around the game. If you're a final fantasy fan, you'd probably enjoy it (Original FF7 not required, but FF7:Remake is probably required). If you're not an FF fan, would be hard to start with this one - probably start with FF7:Remake first. Maybe try to get one on sale first then get the next one on sale.

One of the best AAA Games in years
||Posted . Owned for 9 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Most satisfying action RPG combat I’ve ever experienced. The world is full of exciting opportunities to fight monsters, level up, relax with minigames, and get to know your party members. 100 hours I won’t forget. Great pickup experience at Best Buy as well.

Beautiful Sequel, Ubisoft Mechanics Become Tedious
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I haven't finished the game yet but I'm a good 70 hours in now and wow, the game is beautiful, massive compared to Remake (part 1 of the series) and I'm loving all the mini-games and most of the expanded story beats. The biggest downside is, they've added a bunch of Ubisoft-esque open world mechanics. Towers which don't show more map but will show where all the open world side quests are. Those can feel tedious by the time you get to the third area (about 9 chapters into the game) and they take quite a while to do so it breaks up the pacing of the game a ton. If you're a completionist, expect a massive game that will take you a long while for even a first run. Not a completionist, could bang out the story in maybe 50-60 hours still.

A Superior Sequel in Many Ways
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Despite not receiving the promised exclusive steelbook that comes with pre-ordering the game and my copy being delivered in bad/damaged condition (was able to trade for a new copy), this review is solely focusing on the quality of the game itself. After playing 100+ hours of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth and still not yet finished with the main story, I am exuberant from what I have experienced so far. The sequel to FFVII Remake is arguably superior due to the vast, seamless open-world with dynamic traversal and environments/regions. The characters are developed further and are a joy to watch and play due to the engaging interactions and synergy they have between each other in cutscenes and gameplay. The combat system is a step-up from FFVII Remake, with air-combat being improved and the new synergy moves being both flashy and effective as they open up more options in battle. The music is also stellar as expected, although so far I'm unsure if it tops Remake's soundtrack and other FF OSTs. And not to mention the grand amount of minigames that is so much fun, with almost all of them being optional to play. Speaking of, a lot of things are optional, so you can focus on the main story and not do much exploration or not play a majority of minigames if you want. The story so far is interesting to follow, and it does answer some questions from FFVII Remake, but will probably leave even more questions by the end. For now, the narrative is coherent enough and follows many story beats from OG FFVII. As a Final Fantasy fan, this is one of the best FF games and it's going to be quite the task to top this game when the final part of the FFVII Remake trilogy arrives.

Get immersed in the beautiful world beyond Midgar!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm about a third way through and ~40hrs into "Final Fantasy VII Rebirth." It's an amazing game. There are a lot of new things added that weren't in "Remake," such as a new combat synergy system, crafting, party relationships, minigames, and more. The visuals are absolutely gorgeous, from the environments and landscapes to the characters themselves. Lots of detail in the world makes it feel alive and immersive. Which is a good thing, because "Rebirth" is largely open-world, which is quite a departure from "Remake," which was very linear. I am not usually a fan of open-world games, with the many sidequests, exploration, and more that comes along with that genre. However, "Rebirth" does a good of making a lot of that relevant to the main story. You can skip a lot or even all of the sidequests and exploration and focus solely on chasing down Sephiroth, but you'll miss out on in-game world lore, character development and motivations, and even powerful items, equipment, and materia that can be very helpful in Cloud and the gang's journey beyond Midgar. If you enjoyed "Remake" or even the original "Final Fantasy VII," I highly recommend playing part two!

Fantastic
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wonderful and loads of fun with mini games and adventures abundant throughout. The game has performed well in graphics mode which has been throughout for me in entirety. No frame dips etc, smooth playing throughout. Great acting by the cast, and a big story that pulls you in. Can't wait for the finale when it comes out.

Good game overall
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. An overall incredible game with nearly boundless amounts of content and exploration. It's bogged down in pacing by the middle but finishes strong to leave an emotional impact on players. I had an issue with preorders at Best Buy where they promised me a steelbook and yet never actually delivered on it. Game itself is good.

NO STEEL BOOK
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Dont get it twisted , my ratings for the game itself Games great, i ordered from Best buy specifically for the STEEL BOOK CASE , and what did i get , orginal standard copy in the original case . NO STEEL BOOK . I preordered from square enix in october and canceled it once i saw you guys did the steel book with standard . I ended up buying the game digitally because my intentions was to keep the steelbook version unopened as a collectors item . Best buy dropped the ball on this one . My review is based off customer service, not the actual game, game gets a 10 out of 10, best buy gets 1 out of 10.

Really Fun So Far
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm about 30 hours into the game currently and I'm enjoying it so far. I just finished Remake in the last few weeks and I like Rebirth more so far. I usually don't care to do the side quests in games, but I've done all the ones I found in Rebirth. I also really like the OST. It definitely helps that I played FF7 original and Remake before this one. If you like RPGs or think you might like it, you should get it. If you're unsure, it would be a really good buy when it goes on sale.

Game is great!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Highly recommend playing the first one for early on goodies. There is souch to explore and so many things to do (mini games galore). I am a sucker for queens blood (the mini card game). Its a mix of chess and a card game. The fight systems are alughtly different from the first one - mainly the synergy attacks for me. I played intermission befofe this one and found myaelf relearning to use the fight system. I dont have much time to play everyday but every time i do, hours go by!
