The Recast unit only has 4 tuners which allow simultaneous recording or watching TV channels. I used a simple coax TV splitter in front of the Recast unit and ran coax to each TV set. If the TV set is watching on the coax cable it does not use any Recast tuner. If signal strength is an issue use a RF amplifier (10-20 db) before the splitter to overcome the signal loss through the splitter. Each of my TVs also has a Fire TV 4K Stick to watch recorded shows.
I would recommend:
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Not sure but think 2 different set ups 1 TV & 1 hdmi
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The box itself is tuning those channels. The signal strength should change splitting the cable. If you plug one end of your splitter into the TV and the other into the recast it should still have all tuners available while you are strictly watching TV on your TV. Now if you plugged in the TV, but are watching TV through the recast then yes you will lose a tuner, making three available so long as you're watching tv that way.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I believe if you split the antenna feed, you should be able to use the 4 tuners on the Recast AND watch whatever you want on another TV. The recast doesn't know anything other than it has an antenna connection. However, if you do split the signal, you will suffer some quality loss depending on the splitter and length of run.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You can only have a TOTAL of 4 things going on at once.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes as long as you split the antenna b4 the recast you will still be able to watch on as many TVs as you want from the antenna because it is pre recast. When going threw the recast that’s when you are limited but to this point family of 5 have not had any issues because it only applies when you are streaming local channels and my kids don’t care what’s on locals they want the Netflix and Hulu and prime shows. Only me and the wife use the locals.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You can split the signal and go to each, but you may run into signal loss on one or both. it’s worth a try if you have a good antenna
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, the limit is only if you are watching through one of your Fire TVs. Splitting your antenna signal would not affect this.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I honestly haven’t tried that, but I believe you definitely should be able to. The antenna plugged into the recast will record directly into it. You then watch the playback (or live tv) through the fireTV device. If you plugged a separate antenna into the tv directly you could switch to that input on the tv to watch live while record 4 shows on the recast. This should be an entirely separate input from the fireTV input.
