Yes. Our Fisher & Paykel dishwasher has served us for 20 years. Unable to purchase boxed powdered detergent—only pods— at Costco any longer, I called customer service and was told to just drop one of the pods in the silverware basket. Works fine.

Unable to find Cascade powder I decided to order Walmart brand Great Value Premium Plus Dishwasher PACs, said to be equal to Cascade Platinum Plus47 PACs. The box of 47 packs is small, and so are the packs that FIT PERFECTLY where powder to go! The real shocker is the Walmart brand cleans MUCH BETTER, and I wonder if it has to do with the two tiny liquid add ins I guess are Dawn generic & rinse. I just read not to cut pack, but to close completely as directed the two plastic posts in large dishwasher powder area may puncture to close. AMAZING!

Depending on the softness of your home’s water, too much detergent can hinder the cleaning performance of the dishwasher: dishes may come out spotty or even gritty. I just buy powdered detergent on Amazon.
