It has white images and print. Not backlight with black letters. The only thing you see is the white images,the rest of the screen remains black. The screen stays black until it lets you know something.

Not "black lit. Just tapp it...or push the side button, for excellent display. There are 2 green lights on back side. They are sensors for steps, heart,etc. I love this unit. It will show who is calling...wake me...lots of cool stuff.

It is not backlit. It is white letters/numbers on a black background., and is very easy to read even outside in the sunlight.

It is not an LCD screen which would require backlighting; it is an OLED display which is very bright.
